YOGA AID!

YOGA AID SYDNEY 2012

On Sunday 9th September, 750 sydney yogi’s young and old all came together in the spirit of yoga and charity at the Domain to kick start of Yoga aid 2012. The yoga aid challenge is an international fundraising event with a dual purpose of raising funds for charity and sharing the wonderful joys of yoga. Yoga aid is celebrated in over 20 country’s worldwide. This year was the first year to make it a yoga rely, starting in Sydney and moving globally around 20 plus countries to finishing in LA. We were blessed with the beautiful Sydney sun bright shiny happy hearts, amazing yoga teachers to lead us through our asana and the inspiring amazing Mc Yogi, to get us shaking and sweating our lululemon pants off..

Here to join us today and share about her experience as a first time Yoga Aid participant is Amy Jhonston.

How did you hear about Yoga Aid?
I heard about it through my old amazing place of work….lululemon athletica!

What made you decide to join in?
I couldn’t resist getting involved with such a fun, loving and giving event. Plus an inspirational bunch of teachers were in the line up and all my lululemon friends were there…..hard not to join in!

Describe your experience of yoga aid?
It was such a special morning. The sun was shining, people were smiling….you could feel the love!! Knowing that we 700+ Sydney siders were the starters of the world wave of yoga aid made the experience very magical..

What was your favourite part? I have to say that I fell madly in love with MC Yogi. When he sang ‘give love’ i had a groove down the front and felt like a teenager again! Shame he is married….

Did you have a favourite bliss moment/heart melt moment?
Yes, I did. We did partner work where we had to place our hand on the others persons heart and breath together. This was something new for me…but really felt a connection. LOVED it.  (Roshi was my partner btw…she is a cool chick)

Will you be coming back next year?
I certainly will be coming back…..and plan on bringing a whole troop of people with me! GIVE LOVE!
